Neighborhood Profiles is a master capstone project through a collaboration between the New York City Department of City Planning Capital Planning Division and New York University Center for Urban Science and Progress (NYU CUSP). This project focused on developing analytical approaches and prototyped a web application, in order to assist a data-driven capital planning process for neighborhood development. In this project the team explored available data for capital planning, defined neighborhood characteristics and demand, proposed metrics and methodologies, and prototyped a digital platform to enhance neighborhood capital planning decisions. At the end of the project, Neighborhood Profiles ultimately proposes a web-based platform providing analytical insights on neighborhood character for capital planning decisions.
